Continuing of the project "Forced Labor 1939 - 1945"
Freie Universität Berlin, German Historical Museum Berlin and the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" continue their successful cooperation in the project "Forced Labor 1939 - 1945".

The three partners agreed on Wednesday, 15th of May, to preserve, extent, and spread the collection in education, research and teaching. Plans include among others language versions in Russian and English. Internet-based offers which meet the requirements of mobile devices and which are tailored to the specific usage habits of pupils shall be created for the educational work.
Between 2007 and 2012, the collection of 583 audio and video interviews with former forced laborers from 27 countries has been digitized, transcribed and made accessible by short biographies, partly been translated into German, and made available worldwide via the online archive.
The continuation of the cooperation was signed by the president of Freie Universität Berlin, Prof. Dr. Peter-André Alt, the president of the German Historical Museum Berlin, Prof. Dr. Alexander Koch, and the Co-Director of the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”, Günter Saathoff.
