From now on, archive users can write comments on interview sequences and thus improve the online archive.

Following the desire to create a "living archive" in which the users' knowledge and expertise are incorporated, the possibility to write annotations was created as a new feature.
So far, there are already some editorial notes on specific interview sequeneces (e.g. location-based details or bibliographical references) written by the project team. From now on, every registered visitor can leave a note (up to 300 characters) in German or English. This annotation should contribute to the understanding of the interview and of course respect the witnesses and their memories. The archive editors have formulated specific guidelines and reserve the right to shorten, correct, or not publish certain user annotations.
In order to write a comment, you must be registered and logged in to the archive. While listening to an interview, click on "write annotation" right under the video or audio player. You can choose whether your notice should be published in the archive or whether it should be saved within your workbook. If you opt for the publication, the text later appears below the revolving interview transcript under the author's name.
This new possibility to publish comments will make the archive more multifaceted and interactive. It gives users the chance to share their knowledge and findings with other interested persons and to improve and expand the online platform by making qualified contributions. This way, the archive becomes more alive, up-to-date and communicative.
